• Identify risks and limitations of donor-heavy operating models

• Assess their organization’s current sustainability position

• Clarify what long-term viability realistically looks like for their mission and context

This foundation helps organizations move forward intentionally, rather than reactively.

Exploring social entrepreneurship without losing purpose

Before exploring new revenue pathways, organizations must be clear on what creates value and impact.

In this module, participants will:

• Revisit and clarify mission, programs, and value propositions

• Identify strengths, assets, and underutilized capabilities

• Explore ethical, mission-aligned earned-income and hybrid models

• Assess which social entrepreneurship options may realistically fit their organization

The focus is not on chasing income, but on aligning sustainability strategies with purpose, values, and community needs.

From ideas to action, culture, and long-term learning

In the final focus area, participants translate insight into practical, testable plans and prepare their organizations for change.

Participants will:

• Design realistic sustainability pathways or pilot initiatives

• Map costs, resources, risks, and assumptions

• Engage teams and boards in sustainability conversations

• Lead change with transparency, learning, and adaptability

By the end of the course, participants will have a clear sustainability roadmap they can refine and implement over time.
